Our Work: Eliminating Barriers to obtaining Hygiene Kits
Chimbo Helping Hands is dedicated towards eliminating barriers in place in order for community members unable to purchase hygiene kits to obtain the kits promoting self confidence and promoting infectious control protocols. These kits will be inclusive for ALL regardless of gender, sex, color, or race. The kits will be distributed at homeless shelters, during outreach activities, to low income families, and hopefully, on a global spectrum.
Limited access to hygiene kits leads to the use of non-sanitary and non-hygienic products which can result in various negative outcomes both mentally and physically. Hygiene poverty is a serious issue in the United States and it affects many from obtaining quality life impacting them from succeeding at school, work, and generally anywhere. Unfortunately, programs such as SNAP and WIC do not cover hygiene kits resulting in many having to choose between grocery for their family or obtaining hygiene kits. Although a single meal may not solve hunger, we also understand that a single hygiene kit will not solve hygiene related concerns however distributing the kits directly to recipients in need will promote sustainable health and wellness and ensure the kits are getting to the right people in need.

Our numbers that speak
Chimbo Helping Hands believes in transparency and will provide annual financial statements providing details pertaining to administrative costs and funding to be made available to the public. We believe that engaging in this practice will help our donors feel secure that each of their donation is being used towards helping community members and promote Chimbo Helping Hands as a trustworthy organization focusing on promoting positive impact on the world. What we do
We distribute hygiene kits across NYC throughout the year during our outreach tabling activities and ensure linkage to Social Determinant of Health services are provided to community members ensuring they have access to additional resources such as housing, mental health needs, food pantry, etc.
